Shree Cement’s income tax demand cut to ₹222 crore from ₹589 crore

Shree Cement Limited's tax demand of ₹588.65 crore has been reduced to ₹221.72 crore following a rectification order. The company has paid the revised demand through pending refunds. Net profit nearly doubled to ₹618.5 crore in the first quarter, boosted by 50% growth in other income, however, revenue and EBITDA margin missed analyst expectations.

In the previous session, Shree Cement stock ended 0.73% lower at Rs 30,693 on BSE. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 1.10 lakh crore.Shares of Shree Cement are in focus today after the firm said an income tax order seeking Rs 588.65 crore has now been rectified to a lesser amount. The company had earlier disclosed on May 28,2025, that an assessment order under Section 143(3) for FY 2021–22 had raised a demand of ₹588.65 crore. Shree Cement has now informed that the rectification order was received on August 19, 2025, from the Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, Central Circle, Ajmer..
